Explore Eo Gio

In the dictionary of travel enthusiasts, especially those fond of beach tourism, “Xứ Nẫu” in Binh Dinh may not be as enticing a name as Nha Trang, Da Nang, or Phan Thiet, right? When you hear Binh Dinh, suddenly it feels too sunny, too rugged… or something along those lines. But if you visit Binh Dinh once, especially when guided by locals, you’ll surely get addicted to this place due to its natural beauty – a charm that hasn’t been extensively exploited for tourism.

And if you ask what one of the most beautiful places in Binh Dinh is, the locals won’t hesitate to tell you that it’s Eo Gio and Ky Co Beach!

Just hearing the name, you can probably imagine how Eo Gio is, right? Eo Gio is located in the coastal area of Nhon Ly commune, Quy Nhon city, surrounded by a majestic crescent-shaped mountain range. Due to its unique geography – a hollow nestled between two high cliffs close to the sea – it’s named Eo Gio, meaning “the strait that catches the wind.

Eo Gio possesses a pristine and majestic quality that is unrivaled by any other coastal region in Central Vietnam. It’s like a miraculous wonder nestled amidst rocky mountain ranges, requiring exploration and discovery to reach. Once you arrive, you’ll start exclaiming “Ah! Wow!” at the incredibly clear blue waters, the towering rocky cliffs forming unique shapes that encircle the entire coastline, and the sensation of lying on the rocks, listening to the sea breeze whispering in your ears, creating an indescribable peace.

On the mountainside, there are several charming caves such as Ky Co Cave, Ba Nghe Cave, attracting numerous swallows to inhabit and build nests. Surrounding the strait are lush green meadows where occasionally you may encounter herds of goats leisurely grazing, or a couple taking wedding photos. Nearby lies the “Stone Egg Nest” beach with rocks resembling eggs in various sizes and colors, painting an incredibly vibrant natural picture.

Taking wedding photos here is simply breathtaking.

Or preparing food for a picnic with friends—a fantastic idea indeed.

As it’s a fishing village and not a well-known tourist spot, the atmosphere is incredibly tranquil, and the locals are very hospitable. Try visiting here this summer to discover how beautiful Vietnam is and explore these natural masterpieces yourself.

From Eo Gio, it only takes 30 to 40 minutes by boat or canoe to reach Ky Co Beach. At Ky Co Beach, you’ll be amazed by the raw beauty and pristine allure of this place. If you’ve ever been awestruck by the emerald-green Palawan beaches in the Philippines, then undoubtedly, Ky Co Beach will captivate you once again. The jade-colored sea with silent rock formations creates numerous small, exquisite “pools.”

In Ky Co, tourism is still relatively undeveloped, so if you’re seeking high-class services or luxurious amenities, this might not be the place. However, in return, you’ll experience rustic adventures, immerse yourself in the locals’ way of life, indulge in fresh seafood, and admire the untouched beauty of a coastline relatively unaffected by human hands. These are wonderful experiences that every young person should try at least once in their lifetime.
